My mom's planning on getting a new car to go with our new apartment, and she wants something small and practical with good mileage all that boring stuff. She wanted the Micra because it was cheap, but she mentioned she like the Fiesta (you can imagine what I told her). I'm trying to convince her to buy the ST (or even the Focus, ST or not).

Does anyone have any recommendations? (We're buying new of course)

Why are you trying to convince her to get an ST? Does she really need one?

If not the ST, then get the 1.0L. It's faster and more fuel efficient than the base Fiesta.

Not going to lie, the Oppo hivemind is sometimes really stupid.

But diesel is actually pretty good. All that torque for towing!

Drive a FiST and you'll know the right choice :)

If you have to ask who needs a 200 horsepower Fiesta, you might want to try another website.

My girlfriend's Mom just got a Mirage/Space Star due to price. I'd second the 5 door Fiesta/ST recommendation though.

Fiesta is a fantastic little car, ST or no. The Fit is great...but is there a new Mazda2 out? I wasn't a big fan of the 2013, but if it's been redone, that's worth looking at.

I guess 30k would be the absolute max, but should be under 25k.

Good idea, but I checked the site and built one, but I think the base price is too much, I'll see what she says though...

Remember, it's your mum's car, not your car. Try to find out what's best for her.

Well the only problem is the money, I know she wouldn't have a problem with me (or her) driving an ST, so yeah, it's still the same car, but more useful than our older car in the winter (BMW E46 323 ci)

My buddy has a fit and though it isnt for me it is a sharp little thing. He also used it to carry a crap ton of stuff across the state for his wedding.
